How to Prepare Dried Beans

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 180 minutes
Yields: 5 servings

 

 

 

Ingredients:

dried beans

water

Directions:

These instructions are for Great Northern Beans. Make sure to read the package of your beans in case cooking instructions are a bit different 🙂

Rinse Beans and let soak overnight in a bowl.

Simmer beans & water (1part beans: 3 parts water) for 2-3 hours.

Volia! Add to salads, soups, grains, veggie dishes, whatever you’d like!

Notes:

I was very hesitant to prepare dried beans because I heard it took so much time. After learning more and more about the dangers of canned foods I decided that I needed to learn how to prepare them dry, even if it took more time.

I’m happy to say it’s quite honestly the easiest thing I’ve ever prepared. You can reheat them on the stove and use them all week long!
