I’ve realized through coaching a few of my clients how difficult it can be for a newby to start eating more greens. I like to get something in their bodies so they can feel for themselves how amazing greens are for you. One of the easiest, quickest ways to get more greens into your body is through a green powder.
A green powder is a bunch of goodness in powder form that you can add to water or blend up in a smoothie with your favorite fruits and veggies if the water just doesn’t do it for ya. If you could fully understand the amount that the greens are healing your body you would be amazed.
Many people aren’t used to eating that many greens, whether it’s cooking them, juicing them, eating them raw, or figuring out where to buy the best ones or which to eat, so it can be a bit daunting. A powder makes it so very simple and gives you lots of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Since it’s a whole food your body knows exactly what to do with it and uses its energy elsewhere, for example, by giving you actual ENERGY. Very different from when you eat processed food that your body has no idea what to do with and sucks up all your energy trying to figure it out how to digest it, where it should go, how the body should use it, and how to get rid of it.
One of my favorite green ladies out there is Kris Carr.I was so lucky to get to spend the day with her at my house yesterday.I took the picture after we ate so the salad bowl is a little empty, but you get the jist!
Kris produced the documentary Crazy Sexy Cancer and her New York Times Bestseller, Crazy Sexy Diet, is my all time favorite book on learning how to eat healthy. It’s so fun, SO INCREDIBLY informative, and most importantly, hysterical.
I recommend looking around your health food store to find a green powder. My favorites are Amazing Grass, Organic Green Superfood in chocolate flavor and Sunwarrior Ormus Supergreens which tastes pepperminty. You can also order these online in case you don’t have a health food store nearby.
It may not taste like a chocolate milkshake at first, but very quickly your taste buds will change, detoxify, and start to actually enjoy it! Our bodies do amazing things.
FAST FACT: Most of our bodies are way too acidic, and to alkalize them we need to add greens, greens and more greens. Over acidity can cause many issues (and eventually, ahem, dis-ease) in your body. A bad diet makes you acidic, but just as importantly and just as much of a cause is lack of exercise, anger, drugs, cigarettes and stress.
ACTION: Help your body out a bit and add some greens! Invest in a green powder. Switch out some starch and add a vegetable. Get something in your diet. The smallest change will do wonders.
